Mountain Guide / Horse Trainer
Emma lives on a smallholding in the south of Spain, with her husband, two-year-old daughter and their many animals. While not outside, she is working as a freelance writer covering topics including pets, outdoor equipment, hiking, and RVing.
Emma qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Equine Science, before going on to complete a Masters in Applied Marine Science. Emma has previously worked as a mountain guide, leading horseback treks in the Sierra Nevada mountain range. She has also worked as a racehorse trainer, on research cruises off the coast of New Zealand, on a turtle conservation project in Costa Rica, and as a science teacher.
Travel is another of Emma's passions, and she has traveled every continent except Antarctica. Some of her favorite places include the Galapagos Islands, Easter Island, and New Zealand, where she met her husband.
Animals are a firm part of Emma's life. Her tribe includes two horses, one of which was a wedding present! she also owns four dogs and five cats - all rescued and now living a peaceful life of long walks and sleeping in the shade.
